Bahrain causeway entry ban for Asians

Guys, anyone traveled to Bahrain via causeway? I returned back from causeway just before Eid Adha and Jawazat officer told me Asians entry is banned... what is latest now as one of my colleague landed at Bahrain airport and his driver travelled from Khobbar and crossed the causeway to pick him up from Bahrain airport.

It it fine to travel through causeway for asians?

There is a big thread on Bahrain forums discussing this:

https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=792341

And it is not for Asians.  Only issue is for Pakistani and Bangladesh passport holders who are GCC residents - they are not getting visa on arrival in Bahrain for most professions via the causeway.  Additionally new visas - work and visit for Pakistanis are also unofficially banned in Bahrain.

But driver was Pakistani he collected his Boss from bahrain airport...

Read the thread link I posted.

They blocked it before Eid and then on Eid day, they were issuing visas and then again blocked after Eid.

I crossed causeway yesterday (I have Bahrain iqama) but my Pakistani driver was not allowed to enter (Saudi Iqama holder) and I had to use an alternative Indian driver (also Saudi iqama holder).    This is as latest as it can get.

Wow, really?

Yes.  Read the thread.  The problem has been there since mid July and now has gotten worse.

OMG.

That's really sad for those who are affected.

As of today, we haven't read anywhere about such a rule. Causeway is used by many nationalities for the purpose of business and leisure. Even my friends have arrived via Bahrain airport to KSA.

As I said before, this happened for Pakistan and Bangladesh passport holders.  Indian passport holders are able to cross.  And the situation keeps on changing - first it was complete ban, then opened for a day, ban again and then they were allowing people on an approved profession list....etc etc.

There is a thread tracking developments on day to day basis.

Just because you didn't hear of it, it doesn't mean it did not happen.  This has been covered in Bahrain newspapers extensively and the Pakistan foreign minister also highlighted it to his Bahrain counterpart - again covered in newspapers.

So please don't comment if you don't know all the details.
