Hi everyone,
Question for MM2H holders. I am wondering is there a minimum I'd have to spend on a property. I am looking at possibly buying a condo for 400-500k MYR. I would be getting the mm2h and doing a Fixed Deposit for the visa qualification. I am above 50.

I am not going to use the property to meet the visa needs.

Can I purchase a property below 1 million or does it need to be a million minimum regardless of whether I use the property for the MM2h or not?
What about 2 for 500k does that qualify and rent 1?

Depends where the property is located i.e. which State.

Property can NEVER meet the visa needs as it has to be LIQUID ASSETS

The two at RM500k was in Penang but the rules changed last month and now RM1 million minimum purchase price.

Sometimes the purchase at lower minimum has to be after getting MM2H Approval - so think before you buy. It actually makes sense, because against the purchase part of the FD can be withdrawn.

PS - you still need to show some monthly income to qualify for MM2H. The FD is now mandatory.
