Hi sumitran,
Pls help me out with this question.
I stayed in Oman getting to 3 months now and my sponsor told that I have hepatitis B. They are taking me back to my country. He now said I'll book tickets by mysef and he refused to pay me for the days I have worked for him as a maid.
Pls is it my right to book d tickets and go bck to my country without my last month payment?
Pls reply me as soon as possible. Thanks.

I am really very sorry for my inadvertent late revert.

I know you have been going through a real ordeal in the Sultanate. I am glad that you are going to find your much-needed peace at home soon.

Answering your question, NO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY YOUR RETURN TICKET.

Your sponsor / employer must provide you with your return ticket. Refuse to budge and refuse to negotiate anything regarding this.

Besides, you must be paid until the last day you have worked. If your employer / sponsor is refusing to do so, you have every right to drag him to the Labour Court.

Now that it is certain that you would be returning, stand firm and demand that you be rightfully compensated for all your time and effort, and most importantly for the sufferings which you have had to endure.
