What are the requirements to get a retirement or resident visa in Slovenia for a US citizen ?

Unfortunately, more details are hard to come by.

Hello , you already have all details .... you can't just move from third country and receive permanent or temporary residence just on basis that you wish to live in Slovenia as retired person ...and I guess that everywhere in EU is similar situation .,because we have to follow EU regulation .
Most of aliens or work, or open their own company , buy real estate and pay social and health contributions and all other taxes ... it is not little money .

I don't imagine that any country would accept somebody without that. Because we are pretty much social country and when you enter in the system you must to participate.
