Hello,

I am going to start a job soon in KL soon (lets say in septmeber).

My employer is taking care of all the visa formalities. First, they will apply for single visit visa - which will be converted to EP let on (no doubts on that).

Additionally, I am also planning to do a pre-visit to KL in July.

Would it be fine to apply for an additional visa from my end too? A bit concerned - if it's going to affect the other visa process that employer is carrying out (will Malaysian embassy frown at it?).

Getting this would need to be done before the VDR single entry is stamped in your passport.

As the VAL (visa approval letter) and VDR take some time it should be feasible because you control getting the VDR stamped at the Malaysian HC or consulate in India. The VAL/VDR approvals are valid for 3 months.
