Salary expectations

Hello,

I am a graduate software engineer and was offered a salary of 3000Euro to work in Amsterdam.
Is the proposed salary gross or net? (I think it's gross)

My question is: Should I negotiate with the employer or just accept the offer since I have no experience (recently graduate)?

Thank you for your help.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

If you have no experience, then you probably don't have much to negotiate with; i.e. why should they pay you more than your contemporaries; that is the question you need to ask yourself because you'll need to explain why you should be paid more.  Salaries are normally expressed in gross figures; perhaps you should have asked for full details of the package available?

Hope this helps.

Hi,

First of all be happy with this offer.
You are just graduated so 3.000 Euro a month is not bad at all.
This amount is the gross so after deduction of everything you keep still around 1500 Euro in your pocket.

Yes I am happy with salary, my question was about if this salary is a good salary or below the average one.

For the net salary, I used thetax.nl website and the net salary was 2,235, am I missing something ?

Thanks for your reply.
