to get a work permit, you need to find an employer willing to sponsor you. It's difficult to do from abroad with no knowledge of Icelandic, but here is one newspaper's help wanted ads if you want to start learning some words:

Hello man,
yea it is difficult but not because you dotn know Icelandic but because of work visa. Only EU residents can come to iceland without work visa. They just need flat and job.
