Mudik, pulang kampung, or the great going home for the holiday

This is the first day the roads are getting busy for the great holiday return home, the toll roads out of Jakarta starting to run slowly.
It's still not too bad so, if you intend to get out of Jakarta, now would be a good time as leaving it too late will mean it's likely to take one or two days to get into Central Java.
I've suspended my jaunts into the area until after the holiday.
On the bright side, Jakarta's empty streets will be a motorists' playground for a few days either side of 'Hari Raya'.

I've just been into Central Java, nice and steady but hardly a traffic jam to think about, the lack of trucks being a big help.
I dropped off my stuff and set off back to Tangsel within a couple of hours, the road into Jakarta being free and easy to navigate but, and here's the big but, the road into Java was very busy and there were plenty of notable jams to wait in.

The holiday is pretty much over, the post offices should reopen this morning, and the toll roads from Java into Jakarta are slow at best.
