Security clearance for Employment in Egypt

Hello,
I have been offered a job from a company in Egypt and i have also managed to subject all legalized labor contract and experience letters needed to issue my entry permit / work visa.
It's been about 1.5 month i have my company is saying that due to elections the Egypt govt have stopped issuing work permit, or renewing visa for expats.
I was wondering if this is true?
I am a Pakistani citizen and all what i need the security clearance to get my entry permit sorted. how long does the this take?

while i was looking for a job in the American embassy i found the they ask for obtaining and holding a Top Secret security clearance. that's why I'm here
