We are soon visiting Ecuador and want to travel light. What clothes should we pack for a 7 day trip?
How is the shopping, my wife is petite but I am stocky(225 lbs.) can we buy some clothes when we arrive?

It's the rainy season- and rains almost every day. We just got back 2 weeks ago and took enough clothes for 5-6 days and had our laundry done while we were there (just $10). We took 2 pairs of hiking pants(lightweight cotton), 3 prs of jeans and 1 pr of shorts. We also took t shirts and some sweaters for the cool nights and a lightweight rain jacket. I also recommend some waterproof shoes. We had some Teva brand trail running shoes- great for walking the cobblestoned streets. I do not recommend buying clothes there except for maybe souvenir t-shirts, they can be a little pricey.

Where do you plan to visit in those 7 days ? Ecuador has different climate zones.
