Opening cambodian bank account

What is the generally accepted lease term from a landlord  (required document)  to open a local bank account? Is there a minimum?

Why don't you ask the bank where you want to open an account?
They will gladly and politely tell you, so what's the problem asking?

I think it needs a registered rental contract and those are not done for month-rentals, more over for 6 months or more. But that is only my opinion.

Apart from the rental contract you need a valid passport with a E extension of stay, valid more than 4 months after you apply. Tourist visas are not accepted.

Some banks, ANZ I heard, also wants you to show your work permit, which is strange as when you are retired you are not allowed to work due to your retirement extension.

Also check the deposit that will remain in your account and that you cannot use. In my case {Canadia bank] it was only $10 but I have heard of $50 at other banks.

So my general advice, visit several banks and ask, then decide what is best for you.

Cheers.
