Most sought after jobs in Mauritius for foreigners.

Hello everyone. Does anyone has an idea what the most sought after jobs for foreigners are in Mauritius? Looking forward to your answers. Thanks.

Finance/Fintech specialists, IT engineers,-programmers, renewable energy engineers and technicians, language educators...these sectors usually house the bulk of expats working in Mauritius.

That said, irrespective type of job, if you can bring expertise, experience and value not found locally to any field, you have a chance of getting a job.

Thank you for your reply sir. I actually have a Bsc degree in hospitality management. I'm kinda sad it's not part of the jobs in high demands over there. With that being said, do you think hospitality management jobs can pay the minimum MUR 30,000 for foreigners?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

There are definitely job prospects in the hospitality industry, thing is it's much harder than before to secure a job. The government is making sure locals are promoted to managerial positions to take over from expats after a transfer of knowledge.
But as I said above, there are always chances if one can bring value and expertise.

MUR 30,000 is the benchmark for the IT sector only. For other fields, you will have to secure a job contract yielding a monthly salary of at least MUR 60,000.

Wow! I didn't know that. MUR 60k? Do hospitality jobs pay that much over there? I would think one has to be a manager before earning such amount?
