My wife and I are considering renting a house/villa for about a month around Hua Hin to experience living in Thailand. Can anyone recommend the best area to do this. Should we look close to town or one of the developments outside?

We want to experience day to day living and not a holiday type stay and look at properties available for sale or rent.
Anyone have any ideas that would of assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Rick and Joy...we have been living in Hua Hin for seven months now... moved from Kanchanaburi...we stayed in a hotel for just over a week, rented a car and had a really good look around, for a month I would suggest renting a condo in the town area, we are in the Takieap area south of the main town but not to far from the main shopping malls, Blue Port and market village, plenty of markets around to get veggies and so forth...my other half is Thai so we had quite a seamless transition when we moved. We really love the town, still finding great places...highly recommend it as a place to settle. Good luck
