Retirement, schools, gyms and other information

I was to Sosua area many many years ago for a several short vacations.

I am now looking to retire and will be returning this summer to visit the area and the rest of the Dominican Republic as I am sure it may have changed in a lot of ways. I will be visiting to see if this is where I would want to retire to as I have a family to take into consideration.

A few questions:  (If they are repeats or something a link or suggestion of where to search for the info would be appreciated)

1) any advice or feedback on the private international schools there for young grade school and middle school aged children in Sosua area? Pros and cons?

2) any advice on finding a private Spanish tutor for the upcoming summer months for young grade school children? Rates?

3) do any of the Spanish language schools have private tutoring/classes that parents and children can attend together?

4) can anyone give me advice or info on the bjj jui jitsu lessons in the area of Cabarete or surrounding areas? Gyms? Fitness centers? Personal trainers? Weight lifting trainers? Etc.

5) I am also considering the Santo Domingo area If the Sosua are does not work out for my family.  Any advice on the schools there and the Spanish lessons there would be appreciated as well.

I do not mind if you send me some gym names to look up on my own or school names if that is permitted. I have done some research and have contacted a few schools there but I really wanted to get some recent opinions from people currently there.

Please provide any useful feedback. Pros and cons. Thanks in advance.

@Kite809 Platinum Gym in Sosua is on the top floor of the casino. I love it. It is around $20US per month.

Okay welcome to the forums!!!

That is a huge disparity, considering Santo Domingo if Sosua doesn't work out! One is small and the other massive!

Schools - use the search function for previous discussions of schools and services in Sosua.

Private tutor - post that question about two weeks before your trip. Follow up in person once you are here!
I took a self defense class in Las Terrenas, but the instructor has a bjj studio in Cabarete. Let me see if I can find his name and/or the name of the school.
