Malaysia Work Visa Processing time for Indians

What is the visa processing time for Indians after signing the offer letter and submitting the passport copy?

It depends on a lot of factors, including how quickly the employer submits the application. Currently 40 days is being quoted, unless it is done by an immigration specialist company rather than the employer.

It also depends if the company submit the application for  the VDR (visa with reference) at the same time as the visa application.

This explains paperwork and process - https://esd.imi.gov.my/portal/pdf/TC-ES … r-2017.pdf

What also takes time is the need to get the VDR from the Malaysian consulate in either Mumbai, Chennai or Delhi - which is up to the individual to arrange once the VAL (visa approval letter) has been received.

Depending on the type of job and the category of the EP there may be other requirements, such as doing a medical. There is a security scrutiny for Indian citizens carried out.

Sometimes delays take place if documents such as birth and marriage certificates have not been authenticated in India.

There are threads already on this forum discussing exactly the same topics so check them out too. Always check in to the Indian HC website for things like DL actions required. https://www.indianhighcommission.com.my/index.html

Thank you for the info.
Also, if in future I wanted to bring my mother on long term social pass.
As per document required it is saying birth certificate.
If I don't have it can I submit my 10th certificate
Or I need birth certificate only?

Authenticated and CTC original birth cert. Is required. It's immigration so no flexibility. Can't encourage you enough to read the full requirement re documents. If not done to the letter huge delays can occur

Check your HC website to understand issues

This topic has some member experience of getting CTC (and authentication in India)

Hi, i have some question here.  So once i get VDR approval letter from my company, I should go and "collect" my Visa with reference from consulate/embassy right? (1) what does collect really referring to? Do I need to pay for that?
(2) after I get my Visa with Reference, will I be able to go in to Malaysia while waiting for the Stage 2 to be completed and get my working permit there?

I dont think you can actually collect it yourself. I read recently you had to use an Agent. But ring the HC or consulate you designated to check.

Here is the costs YOU have to pay to get your VDR endorsed in the passport: http://visaapplicationmalaysia.com/indi … afees.htmlhttp://visaapplicationmalaysia.com/indi … uired.html

Stage 2 is done after you arrive in Malaysia on the VDR. It is the endorsing of the employment pass into the passport within 30 days of arrival.

The Stage 2 will be done in 30days?
Abd will I be able to work in that 30 days?

I think now the Visa Approval Letter is generated before entering Malaysia it's ok to work as stage 2 is just a formality

Here's another VDR Agent, but there may be others, such as appointed travel agents (check with HC/C)  http://www.vfsglobal.com/malaysia/india/wrf.html

Hi, I've already send all my documents to my employer since beginning of june to get the EP and they said they'll send it to immigration right after I send all the documents. So, a few days ago I asked them about my visa progress and they said it is 99% and about to get the approval but I don't hear anything again until now. Does it take long time to get approval when it's already 99%? My project start a week later

The 99% comment is quite misguided as all the decision making lies with immigration and just uploading the paperwork is a fraction of the process. The first stage is sectoral approval so ask the employer if this has been completed satisfactorily. Only after that does immigration get involved.

Some nationalities require a security check and VDR which elongates the process.

1 month has been the average time for a while.

Check the ESD guide in their website so you have information to ask the right questions.

If the salary is under 5k there is also the involvement of FOMEMA as a medical is required both in home country and on arrival.

Thank you Gravitas for your information. I'll check the ESD web and ask the employer again :)
