One way ticket or return air ticket for a 12mth working visa

I am coming to work in China for 12 months on a Z Visa that will be chnaged to a Resident visa upon my arrival. Does immigration require me to have a return air flight or would a 1 way ticket be accepted.

That will be arranged by the company sponsoring you. Typically it is a round trip ticket to your home nation, and then return back to China.

Immigration doesn't require a return ticket. It's usually provided by your employer. If that's not the case then it's up to you.

Thank you, Vannrox. I need to book my own flight and the sponsoring company will reimburse me. I am unable to get a return ticket 12 months from now hence not wanting to book a ticket when I know I will be in China for longer. You can book for around 11months in advance.
