Dependant Pass to Employment Pass

The employer processes the EP.  They have to be capable of offering employment to foreigners by having the required paid up capital..

Immigration can reject the EP application - on grounds such as the job can be done by a local Malaysian etc.

You cancel the DP through your employer or agent or yourself.

^above is not a problem.

1. Our main concern is when I ask for DP cancelation of my wife from my current employer, do I need to provide them with any document from my wife's potential employer?

2. Also, is it possible to process the DP cancelation if the Dependant is not in Malaysia?

1. Check the form I linked to above - a reason for the cancellation is required and a reasonable lead time to allow the recruitment and EP endorsement to be completed. i.e.  DP cancellation at future date.

2. Passport is required for cancellation of the DP sticker and later on the endorsement of EP - so need to be in Malaysia.

Suggest the employer makes enquiries if your spouse is outside Malaysia in case it may entail a VDR because of her absence.
