The say change is as good as a holiday...

Currently I'm living in Johannesburg, South Africa, waiting for approval of my British citizenship with intent to be living in Scotland by 2019. Giving my teenage son a fighting chance in life and thought I would take my Scottish mum and step-dad back with me... Looking forward to a new life full of adventure and challenges!

Putting my feelers out, I have no idea where to start when it comes to choosing a place to live, what school do I send my son to, and what about work? How far is too far when it comes to travelling to your job. Does one live close to a city? I don't even know what suburbs are good...

After nearly 42 years of living in South Africa, in one city, moving to a country that is nothing like my current one is scary to say the least.

But I have taken the first step of many- and that feels good!
