I found a page where one can apply for a Self-Sponsored Flex-VISA at a cost. I heard anyone can apply and also heard only expatriates can apply.

Has anyone here had experience with such a VISA?

I know of some people who have done it. But keep in mind that not every one is eligible for it. You have to have an expired or terminated work permit. And this is not targeted towards white collar jobs. You can check your eligibility on LMRA express service site.

Also it is TOO expensive. You may pay the same permit cost (excluding the deposit for the ticket) but monthly fees of 30 BD vs. 5 BD for a standard employment / investor permit.
