I've picked up so much useful info on here and for that - Thanks
I am moving to Thailand in May assuming all goes ok but I obviously don't want to use my UK phone over there.
So the question is: What is the best Deal/Coverage I can get, I'm ok with contract or pay as you go. I guess as my partner I will use free apps such as WhatsApp to speak to people back home ?

AIS, Truemove or dtac are your options. Google their prices and packages. I use AIS and they have various packages based on your needs.

Not really that obvious. If your phone is unlocked you can get a SIM at the airport. 4G network is available all over Thailand.
