Hi my name is Linda Turner we are currently living in South Africa and want to retire to Kata Phuket in April 2018. Please can someone advise us how medical insurance works, and also would it be better to rent or buy a property. What bank is recommended for immigrants.

I believe that you could contact CIGNA and talk directly to them. I believe that they are based out of England and insure Internationally. The premium could be in the neighborhood of $2,500 US a year. Good luck

Yes, Cigna is good. As with buying a property, I think you can own a condo or go on a leasehold.
