I was wondering if anyone could help me with the approximate cost of employing each staff member in a retail store in Bali.
Also, is there a general amount of hours that retail stores tend to stay open for each day? I found the hours for shop staff was long when I was last there.
Does anyone know which office in Bali handles local employment regulations etc?

Last I heard the minimum wage on the island was about 2 million per month.
Hours are whatever you want but most shops I've bothered looking at in Indonesia run a two shift system as they tend to open very early and close very late.

I suppose you must be running the thing in your wife's name to get around the strict rules about foreigners running small businesses - just stay in the background and no one is likely to bother you.
