I have 24hrs stopover in Istanbul, how to spend this one day in Istanbul, your advice?

For 24 hr, your best bet is to visit SultanAhmet in day time.
View Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar and Basilica Cistern in day time. A quick walk through Gülhane park.
In evening, have a beer in Taksim
That should be ample for a day's visit.
