Returning on a New Visa before Current Visa Expires

Hey everyone,

I have a trip planned to Thailand over Christmas. I currently have a 3-month, multiple entry, tourist visa that doesn't expire until January 7, 2018.

I am returning from my trip to Thailand on December 29, 2017 (several days before my visa expires).

However, I don't want to do another visa run about a week later, does anybody know if I will encounter any problems if I simply apply for another 3-month VOA (visa on arrival) to use for when I come back to HCM on December 29th?

I'm just concerned that my new 3-month multi-entry visa would not be "activated" and I would still have to leave the country when my first visa expires in order to then use my next visa.

I don't know if my question makes sense. Maybe I have nothing to worry about. Just wondering if others have experience doing this?

Thanks!

Hi kschulz,

There was a similar case in Oct this year.

Apply for your Letter of Approval (LOA) through an agent.
If you get your LOA, you can get a new VOA at the airport.
IMO there shouldn't be any problem.

All the best!

Thanks!

I was looking all over for this posting and I couldn't find it again. Thought maybe it was taken down.

Hello, all -

Anyone want to share a Cambodian border run logistics in early January?

I've read online where fully serviced visa run agencies are available in HCMC. Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks.

Jane

Catch the bus, it's 40k vnd each way. It's not a difficult process.
