Capital Gains Tax nightmare

Hello, has anyone else had problems with the tax office in Lisbon after selling their only residence in Portugal, being a resident for over 183 days in their tax year and reinvesting the proceeds into a new house in the UK with 2 years of the sale and having to fight not to pay the CGT rollover I am legally entitled to.  Both my accountant and solicitor are having real problems with them and I understand I am not the only one.  Any advice/support would be welcome.  Many thanks.

Hi, welcome to the Forum and I'm sorry to read about your problems.

While we don't encourage people to post the same thing twice, I think under the circumstances you describe, you may get further coverage if you ask the same question on our Portuguese forums; this link will take you there.
