Scooter as primary transportation

Greeting everyone,

This is a great site...I have learned a lot of things to consider on my planned retirement to CR that never occurred to me before joining this forum!

What are your thoughts on how safe it is to ride a scooter as my primary form of transportation in CR? I've seen the traffic and driving habits during a week's stay and know what to expect. I've driven extensively in the Caribbean and Mexico without incident and consider myself a pretty good driver.

Also, if anyone knows, what would be the approximate cost for a new scooter in the mid to upper horsepower and quality range?

Thanks,

Martin

Driving a scooter around Quepos as is stated on your information page, should be safe enough but personally, wouldn't recommend it in the larger, busier towns.
