Questions about marrying in Bahrain and VISAs(UK national)

I am a British citizen, living in the UK, wanting to move to Bahrain to Marry my Saudi national fiancé who will be working there next year(he is in the UK now with me studying). We are both Muslim, and want to make the process as simple and quick as possible, as I am living in UK while he is in Bahrain and we want to reduce the time apart as much as possible.

A few questions:
Can I apply for a visitors visa and then get married in Bahrain and apply for the spouse visa?
If I get married in Bahrain, I've read that a letter from the father of the bride is required. I am estranged from both parents for my own safety(they are violent), will this be a problem? Do I need to prove estrangement?
Would it be easier to just marry in the UK and then get a spouse visa?
How long do visas take in Bahrain? (I know this is like ask how long is a piece of string but a general idea would be helpful).

Any help or advice is appreciated, my fiancé is my whole world, and we just want to be together in Bahrain, and start our new life and start our family. I am very nervous about this process because I know absolutely nothing about it.
