Return ticket for entry - just updated

This just updated and  translated:

This is what is needed to enter the country.

Passport  with more than six months of validity
Visa or Tourist Card, as appropriate
Return flight ticket to your country
Reservation of hotel or address of stay in the country
Economic solvency to sustain its permanence; conditions without which, these people could constitute a burden for the Dominican State.

Well that is interesting.  I read it as well and not sure what it meant.

The 6 month of passport is certainly new as it has always been length of stay

The solvency question is also interesting.  Does this mean that all tourists must now carry with them their last 5 years of tax returns?  :D:D

It seem that this is a missmosh of tourist requirements and long stay folks or residency seeking folks.

If this is really true it is another example of the government here shooting the golden goose (tourism)

Mostly rumors are bullshit. Usually nothing matters, no return ticket, lengh of stay, nothing.  They don't care how long you stay, you just pay the shake-down when you leave.    Even like when they went hay-wire around PP last year, that was an aberration, an out-lier.

Passport issue of 6 months has been in place a long time and applies to many countries not just here.

I assume when tourists travel on a package via tour operators all this is a non issue.  Others may want to take notice.

Will it be enforced - who knows. But all are warned.

Maybe like helmet laws they will enforce it on 4th Tuesday that is an odd numbered month in blue moon months :)

Maybe Bob!!!
