Traffic in Italy

Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Italy, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Italy?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

Hi

I live in the countryside 50 miles south of Milan where traffic is very quiet. The roads are horrible though and there are a few crazy drivers around that overtake in riskies ways! There are also some extremely slow drivers, either very old people or very young generally. Pavia is the closest larger city where driving is still easy and parking cost hardly anything. Always pay your ticket though as you will be suprised by the efficiency of parking control! In our region there are a lot of signs and camera's warning you for speed limit control but most of them do not actually work.
