Keeping in touch while living in Sweden

Hello everyone,

What are the best ways you've found for keeping in touch with friends and family back home while living in Sweden? How frequently do you stay in touch with loved ones?

Are there local equivalents to common instant messaging and online video calling services that you prefer or are more widely used?

If there is a sizeable time difference, how do you manage this?

Do you make international phone calls from a landline or mobile phone from Sweden? What do you think of the cost?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

There are simple mobile apps such and whatsapp and imo. Mostly imo is best for my friends and family back home because its uses less data and its call quality is good. whatsapp is good for messaging.
This is the most used way to communicate home and if there is no internet in my home country then i recharge my comviq line with a price plan called AMIGOS AFRICA which costs 59kr and i call for almost 10 to 15 mins. I sometimes use calling cards sold online on phonecards.se and call africa, a "Trana" card costs 50kr and can be used for 17 mins.
