Paying bills in Latvia

Hello everyone,

What bills do you pay? If you are renting, are bills included in the price of rent, and is this common practice in Latvia?

How can you pay your bills (e.g. online, at provider's store, at the post office)? Which is the most convenient or reliable way?

With what frequency are different bills sent in Latvia? Are there different deadlines for payment?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi to pay bills here such as tv and internet cost is hard. Big bills through internet banking but small ones cause problems as any way post office charge fortune of 4 euro to pay a bill of 16 euro. Same if you use shops to pay bills. Makes a profit for all and loss to me of some 20 euro a month. We own our home and have no other problems. The answered may be open a bank account here but all banks moved from our area to Riga last year. Anyway banks not protected by Government are a risk to take.In UK or USA banks are fully protected from failure by Government funding. Not here so bank at your own risk.Recall Parex and then use not a bank to place in your hard earned pence.
