Otherwise known as the Portugese Black Millipede. Does anybody know an effective way of getting rid of these things, I have a plaque in the garden working its way toward my vegetable garden?

Any treatments must obviously be pet and human friendly.

Hi Jules,

I just classified your millipede post in the Everyday life section as we don't have a ' pet ' section and that might not have been appropriate either.

Luckily we don't have them in our present apartment but had them in our previous townhouse.

My remedy was flushing them down the toilet!If you are pro-active you can get them under control after a few months.

I can confirm that they leave a terrible stench, even our cat stopped playing with them so they probably don't have a natural enemy in Malta except us humans.

maybe you can get advice from : agricoop.com/ sending them an e-mail or visiting one of their stores (there's one on Mdina Rd near Zebbug but there will be others too).
