Online shopping in Jamaica

Hello everyone,

Shopping online can be far more convenient and offer greater choice than going into shops, be it grocery shopping or retail.

Are there options for online shopping in Jamaica? Which sites or apps do you use most frequently and are these local or international?

Are there particular products that are cheaper to buy online or that are perhaps not available in Jamaica?

What is the delivery process like — is it easy to receive deliveries and what are the costs of shipping? Are there any taxes to pay upon receipt?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi Priscilla , you can shop online from eBay, Amazon , Walmart , Home depot and a few others and have it delivered to your door steps in Jamaica. There's an app that will allow you to do this. https://www.caribshopper.com .  On average it's about 55% more added to your purchase / cost price to be delivered to you. Some items are not allowed like chemicals , pharmaceuticals , and a few restricted items. Delivery time has been as fast as 2 weeks and as long as 6 weeks. Delivery is done by DHL.

Hi

You can shop at any store you want from Jamaica, but you have to be very careful when ordering you can not order 100 dollars worth of stuff shipped in one box they will charge you Customs duty when it arrives in Jamaica.

You have to order items worth 50 dollars or less.  if your Items come up to 100 dollars try to make 2 orders instead of 1 . I shop at ebay , walmart , amazon , almost any store online. I dont use DHL, Fed ex to expensive. You can register with a shipping company such as shipme. They provide you with a USA mailing address. You order from any site and ship to your USA mailing address the Shipme company will ship your items to Jamaica where you can pick it up at there location.

I use them all the time
