I am concerned about the cost of a live aboard sailboat, I see some fancy RICH marina's advertised on the Net.. I just want to live Free.. I have a decent retirement coming, however if this is out of my comfort zone.. Anyone out there got info on what the costs are for a 35-40 ft sailboat staying in a decent Marina would cost.

Any info any where outside the USA would be of much Help, I am considering practical places to go. Asia, South America, ?????

Mexico just seems easier.. I have traveled extensively in the past..

anchoring off shore in a protected bay is probably the way to go, i've seen people do it all over the world. thing is you will need power and water but its easy to by on solar and wind these days since LED lights use very little power. water is a bit more of a problem.

i think the biggest problem (besides hurricanes of course) is it gets really hot inside a yacht and unless you want to run a genset all the time to power an AC, it could be very uncomfortable.
