Can I get a visit visa while LMRA is processing my work visa?

Hi everyone,

My Bahrain work visa has been processing for a month and shows the status "await evisa" in LMRA.

I am wondering if it would be possible for me to enter Bahrain with a tourist visa on arrival while this is processing, and then just remain in the country until the work visa is approved.

Would the airport immigration allow me to get a visa on arrival even though I have a work visa in process with LMRA? As a Canadian I am eligible for visa on arrival in general, but not sure if the work visa processing will affect this.

Has anyone tried this before?

On arrival visa you will get it as per your eligiblity irrespective of your visa application.
You can try your luck.
You can make sure if you need to pay tourist visa fees of 30 BD?

I would be a bit more cautious, since a work visa is already being processed. There have been cases in the past where people have not got a visit visa when a work visa is being processed.

Do check with a Bahrain embassy near you before you get on a plane expecting to get a visa on arrival at the airport.
