Tourist Visa to Permanent Resident

I am currently in Brazil overstaying my tourist visa; I have passed the 180 days allowed. My permanent VIPER2 was approved in the states, but the consulate in Chicago told me that I have to return to Chicago to physically get the visa. I will return in October, but will have overstayed the 180 days by about a month. My question is, will this overstay affect my ability to return with my permanent visa?? Or is there some way for me to prove that I have been approved for the VIPER already and avoid the fines and hassles??

Jenerny.

As long as you pay the fines it shouldn`t have any effect on the Viper. As far as Avoiding the fines probably not but you can of course ask.

Jim

Paying fine can be remedy but avoid such in future. Cheers ;)
