Interesting stats on car robberies:
According to this article 2,459 cars have been stolen in PR in 2017.
The towns with the most stolen cars are: Bayamón, Caguas, San Juan, Arecibo y Carolina in other words mostly in Metro areas.
The most commonly stolen cars are: Toyota Yaris, Toyota Corolla, and Hyundai Accent. These cars are very common in PR due to cost and as such they don't stick out anywhere. A lot of cars that are stolen are stolen to commit crimes and often they are set on fire or severely damaged during the time they are in their hands. The other day they got a big van to crash it into a gas station and then steal the ATH machine, LOL.
They are also stolen for parts, like in this article where in a farm in Toa Alta, they found over a hundred stolen vehicles hidden from view, they were stripped of just about anything of value or use.
