Working on a tourist visa

Hi

I am currently in Malaysia on a tourist visa and I have been offered a job contract but the company is not going to apply for a work visa for me, if I sign the contract will it be valid?

Is an illegal contract valid? No.

Are you leaving yourself open to possible arrest and a whole bag of trouble? YES.

You can't open a bank account without an employment pass. It is illegal to work on a tourist visa. You would have to exit the country regularly. Immigration would catch on very quickly and Detention Centres are probably the last place you want to be (that is apart from a Malaysian prison). In short, don't get involved. It can lead to all sorts of other woes, including extortion. Wait for a proper job offer with a Professional Pass offered (don't pay any money for one).
