Life here is very peaceful. I defiantly don't feel the stress I did in Paris or even Canada for that matter

Hey! I'm probably going to be moving to Kyoto in August for 6 months... I like the fact that you said you speak bad bad bad Japanese... that will be me too.

I've been living in Kyoto and it has treated me very well so far. 1.5 million people, but feels so much smaller: I can bike across town in 45 minutes and see familiar faces all the time.
The Kamagawa runs through the middle of Kyoto, the mountains are a short bus/train ride away, and the people are amazing.
