My gf and I just got to Vietnam and are in Ho Chi Minh City. We bought a motorcycle and are interested in hiring a private guide to follow us on their own bike and take 1 bag from HCMC to Hoi An while stopping along the way. We expect the trip will take about 2 weeks since we will sight see along the way.

From my experience, meals and hotel rooms for the driver, above and beyond the base rate, are paid by Vietnamese families who travel by minibus.
