Festivals in Sweden

Hello everyone,

What are the main festivals in Sweden? Are there art, food, music, film, or other festivals expats can attend and participate in?

When do the festivals take place? How long does each festival usually last?

What activities go on during the festival? Is it necessary to buy tickets?

Are there any other events that take place in Sweden that shouldn't be missed?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi the best Festival coming soon ist culture
festival  in Stockholm from 15 to 20 /8

Hello,

For music festivals, there is quite a few during the summer months. I've been to Bråvalla in Nörrköping and this one is a well balanced music festival with pop, electronic, hip-hop, rock, metal with both Swedish and international artists. You can buy a single day ticket or a festival ticket that gives you access for the whole 4 days. Usually takes place in at end of June
There is also Way Out West festival in Gothenburg. This is a 3 day festival with a very hipster vibe occurring in August. There is exhibitions on independent filmmakers and art. Vegan friendly meals. Music tends to be alternative and indie artists in rock, hip hop, and folk.

Sweden is also famous for electronic music and they have an electonic festival called Summerburst in Stockholm thats usually in the beginning of June.
Sweden is also famous for metal and they have a good 2 day festival called Gefle Metal Festival, this takes place in July.
I think that covers it. Oh yeah and Sweden Rock festival in the beginning of June that has classic rock, hard rock and metal.
Happy to give you a rundown of music festivals in Sweden
