Retiring in the Virgin Islands

Hello everyone,

Why did you choose to retire in the Virgin Islands? What are the advantages compared with your home country?

What were your main considerations when deciding to move? For example, taxes, ease of transferring your pension, etc..

Are there any specific formalities you had to go through as a retiree moving to the Virgin Islands (for example, is there a particular retirement visa)?

What is The Virgin Islands' healthcare like? Have you had any good or bad experiences dealing with healthcare professionals?

Do you have any tips for other retirees in the Virgin Islands?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

Good afternoon,

I have been living here for 2 years and I love it. The most important thing in my opinion is to embrace their culture. For instance, they LOVE it when you say good morning, good afternoon. It is quite simple. Respect them and they respect you and they will help you out.  Once you move here, networking connecting with people is the best thing. Let me know if you have specific questions.  Andre
