Retiring in Poland

Hello everyone,

Why did you choose to retire in Poland? What are the advantages compared with your home country?

What were your main considerations when deciding to move? For example, taxes, ease of transferring your pension, etc..

Are there any specific formalities you had to go through as a retiree moving to Poland (for example, is there a particular retirement visa)?

What is Poland's healthcare like? Have you had any good or bad experiences dealing with healthcare professionals?

Do you have any tips for other retirees in Poland?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

The reason I decided to retire here is the cheaper cost of living, as a divorcee I could not afford to live in the U.K. but here I have a good lifestyle, and my pension is more than the average Polish salary. I knew Poland pretty well before I made my decision, my first wife was Polish, and I worked here for around three years in the early eighties. I do speak Polish reasonably well, which helps.
