Retiring in Honduras

Hello everyone,

Why did you choose to retire in Honduras? What are the advantages compared with your home country?

What were your main considerations when deciding to move? For example, taxes, ease of transferring your pension, etc..

Are there any specific formalities you had to go through as a retiree moving to Honduras (for example, is there a particular retirement visa)?

What is Honduras's healthcare like? Have you had any good or bad experiences dealing with healthcare professionals?

Do you have any tips for other retirees in Honduras?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

I would say that retirement in Honduras would be fine for those individuals who have lived overseas prior and have the experience of living in another culture. You must be wise and savvy. Security is everything!! Investigate and visit Honduras prior to see if it is your cup of tea!! Living is reasonable, and most American goods can be bought here. Do not look at Honduras if you are not flexible.
