Hello everyone,

Why did you choose to retire in Botswana? What are the advantages compared with your home country?

What were your main considerations when deciding to move? For example, taxes, ease of transferring your pension, etc..

Are there any specific formalities you had to go through as a retiree moving to Botswana (for example, is there a particular retirement visa)?

What is Botswana's healthcare like? Have you had any good or bad experiences dealing with healthcare professionals?

Do you have any tips for other retirees in Botswana?

Hi,
You have asked many of the questions that I have been wanting to ask, so I do hope that some answers appear. Ever since my first visit to Botswana in 2000, I have felt that it was home, never before or since has a country and its people had such a hold on my heart. I will be turning 60 next year and dream of doing some voluntary work, retiring and ending my days in Botswana. I so hope it is possible.
