Is There Life at Cuencahighlife.com?

For years, www.cuencahighlife.com provided useful news updates and features, in English.

It was easy to access the site.  The reports were typically accurate.  Discussion of politics in Ecuador, which is not permitted on this forum, was available there.  When protests or elections or scandals or acts of God occurred, such events were covered.

For the past several days, at least, however, instead of allowing easy and direct access to the site .. the site is requiring a username and password for site access, with no method offered for obtaining such a password.

1.  Are you also being blocked from the Cuenca Highlife website?

2.  If not, how does one obtain the required password?

3.  Any idea if this a temporary issue .. or is there some reason that cuencahighlife.com is not readily accessible these days?

Although not a Facebook user, I went to their page the other day. Apparently their hosting service shut them down for excessive traffic. They are working on the issue and may switch to a different host.

I tried accessing the site and got this message

This site is not secure

This might mean that someone's trying to trick you or steal any information that you send to the server. You should close this site immediately.

After about a week offline, www.cuencahighlife.com was back up today, with some upgrades in its format and news coverage and classifieds.

A note to visitors on the welcome page indicates that some aspects of the site are still being readied.

However, the site was accessible again with worthwhile news and features.
