Hi all,
I am wanting to start fishing again whilst here in Belgium but I am having a hard time finding much info out and I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction.
Are there any clubs that cater for English speakers?(I have found one e-mail address but it appears to be a inactive account now), I would be willing to join a club if it was right for my needs.
Another thing is there appear to be numerous lakes around that you can fish in different communes but there is not much info in English on if there are seperate permits required (other than the Belgian license) or whether you can just turn up and start fishing. It probably depends on the water I know but it would be useful to know who to go and see if I had to.
I guess it is just the basics really to get me out on the water, what bait and tackle shops are around and some good locations that type of thing.
I am interested in freshwater bait fishing, coarse/carp fishing mainly and also places that are family friendly as well as more specialised waters.
So it would be great if there is somebody here that can help me out or point me in the right direction as I'd love to get fishing again now the weather is on it's way up(sort of).

Keen to start myself, but just got here.
I found some usefull info in my 'gemeente' website, so try you local 'gemeente' (community) website. You can buy simple day passes to many places for carp. Still trying to figure out how get to the trout in the south.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of reply sooner but I'm not all that much better off than when I first posted mainly because I was messed about by a major online tackle retailer with a big order and didn't end up with any kit so I was a little disillusioned with it all.
But now I have a few things on the way so I'm hoping to get out eventually.
I have learnt that near Leuven is an activity centre/park at Kessel Lo which allows fishing I believe and also near the African Museum at Tervuren you can fish at the lakes there but I don't know who to see about it I was told a guy comes around and collects some money but I don't know. And there was a mention that Woluwe Saint Lambert has a lake too. I need to check up on these things I think.
I think the shop mentioned above is a Fly fishing shop which isn't really what I'm after, there is a place called 'Le Mini Zoo' in Molenbeek.
Anyway, if anybody has anything else to add the please do it would be much appreciated.
There must be a couple of expat clubs around as well but I haven't had any luck there either.
