When medical is require .. before or after visa process??

Hi All,
I have a concern regarding work visa and medical for KOC , Got an offer and signed a contract and submitted all documents from Australia. now the recruitment agency told me we are waiting for the work visa to be issued then we will ask you for medical and police clearance.
My concern is .. regarding medical, is medical a requirement of visa processing ?? because I read a lot in this forum, people doing medical before visa processing.
By the way, I'm I waiting for the work permit or work visa to come thru the recruitment?

Hi John,
im in the same boat like you mate.
we are waiting for the work permit (NOC) , should be send by the agency (recruitment), then after that medical test and PPC, should you need any more info just visit Kuwait Embassy website in Australia , they explain every thing you need to do regarding work visa.
any way. I have been waiting 3 months now with no update on my NOC. every one says it takes time up to 5-6 months.

any more info plz le me know
