To find friends, you should attend various activities - like sports clubs or other hooy organisations, concerts, performances and general artistic events, courses (try your local Volkshochschule!) or just talk to people in your nearest pub.
Work also is a good soiurce of personal contacts, so look for a job that allows lots of networking!
