Americans in China

Hello Everyone,

I am taking a TEFL course and have been thinking over which countries I would maybe like to move to. Are there any Americans on here that have moved and gotten jobs teaching English recently? Was it a difficult search?

China, it's easy finding English teaching jobs.
Many different areas of China seek native speaking teachers.
There are many resources out there to find these positions.  Just google it or search here.

Ms M:
China is a huge country with many opportunities for teaching English.  Please do your homework and investigate the schools and the work offers before you agree.  Check on Dave's ESL Cafe for China school offerings...but insist on a few things: 1. A living wage - 10,000rmb or more; 2. A stipend for housing and utilities provided by the school; 3. A school calendar of 180 to 190 teacher work days; 4. Paid travel to and from your home in the US; 5. Health Insurance; and 6. A written contract in English.
This is a great place to live and work - but it can be unbearable if you work for the wrong people.
Good luck.
